VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT KEMRI/CDC PROGRAM
Opening date: 19/04/2012 Vacancy No.K48/04/12 Program description: This program is collaboration between Kenya Medical Research Institute and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention whose remit is to conduct research in malaria, HIV and other diseases. The TB program has a vacancy for a temporary Administrative Assistant.
POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT LOCATION: KEMRI/CDC- Kisian/New Nyanza Provincial Hospital
Essential Requirements: · Diploma in Business Management, Human Resource Management, Finance, or accounting · Fluency in written and oral English and Kiswahili · Computer literacy (Word, emails, PowerPoint)
Desirable Qualifications · Proficiency in Excel, Access or other database application, and internet research. · Meticulous and detail oriented · Outstanding skills in record keeping and balancing finance books. · Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel, and Microsoft Outlook. · Excellent social, communication and listening skills. · Fluency in English, Swahili · Good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. · Attention to detail · Ability to multi-task · Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
Activities and responsibilities: The employee will: · Perform routine administrative duties, including typing, copying, faxing, filing and preparation of learning resources. · Facilitate the conduct of periodic retesting exercises · Arrange for the use of facilities like meeting venues, the resource centre and accommodation for training sessions. · Obtain quotes and place requisitions for items to be purchased · Perform other administrative and computer related duties as determined by site management. · Liaise with KEMRI/CDC in Kisian and study site at NPGH for administration issues, supplies, and petty cash. · Organize a payment schedule with NPGH accounts. · Attend meetings related to the study. · Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary for 3(three months) as per KEMRI scheme of service. Salary negotiable within the appropriate grade depending on education, experience and demonstrated competency.
